A well written psychological thriller that leaves you feeling haunted and sick to your stomach. As we read we believe Cleo had something to do with the death of her bother's first wife We believe Evie is being abused by Mark and desperate to keep her daughter safe by not saying anything. Suddenly one evening Evie kills Mark, the police are torn as to if shes really abused, the lawyer at the woman's shelter where Evie works believes her, but Cloe thinks Evie's a liar and pure evil. After the jury reads the verdict the truth slowly comes out and the horror of what really was happening and what was planned hits you hard.

As children Evie's older brother, who is crazy and a bully, is accidentally killed by Cloe as she protects Mark. Present day, Evie has hidden who she is to enact her revenge. She killed Mark's first wife, got him to marry her, and planned out the "fake" abuse. When she is found not-guilty, she then plans her revenge on Cleo. She hopes to have Cleo struggle with her on a cliff then push her over so Cleo can spend her life in jail. Sadly for Cleo, she is the one that falls, Evie is sent to jail, and her daughter is now living with a friend.
The lawyer is infuriated that Evie made it harder for abused woman to come forward, everyone will think they are all liars like Evie. The poor daughter to lose all the people she loved, but thank goodness shes away from her insane, revenge-driven mother.
